Idea behind the 27th International Festival "Nova Music and Architecture"

The ‘Nova Music and Architecture’ International Festival is a highly significant and captivating highlight of the summer cultural scene in Toruń and the entire Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. The festival’s primary aim is to showcase classical music within the historical and contemporary architectural settings of Toruń.
This year, we are proud to present 18 events (June 22 - September 3, 2023) at various iconic venues, including the Artus Court, the Old Town Hall, St. Stephen’s Church, the amphitheatre of the Baj Pomorski Theatre, the ruins of the Teutonic Castle, the Copernicus Monument, and the CKK Jordanki. We have invited exceptional musicians, including renowned artists, rising talents, and winners of prestigious music competitions. The festival programme encompasses symphonic concerts, chamber music performances, concerts of popular music and those involving seminars. This year, we are delighted to welcome artists from Ukraine, South Korea, and Lithuania.

The festival will feature six concerts by the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, presenting beloved classical masterpieces (works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, R. Strauss, E. Grieg) as well as popular music (including film scores from Hollywood blockbusters by H. Zimmer and W. Kilar, compositions by K. Jenkins, and more). Chamber music works will be presented by Gosia and Kuba Marciniak, Hanna Herasymova-Liakhovych, Bartłomiej Fraś, Julianna Vinci, and Grzegorz Niemczuk. We are honoured to host the Dabyeot Youth Winds Orchestra from South Korea as one of our special guests this year. Additionally, the festival will feature a remarkable piano performance by Kamil Pawłowski, featuring iconic songs by The Beatles, such as ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Penny Lane’, ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’, ‘Imagine’, and more. Moreover, the event will include a captivating online panel discussion (______) led by Patrycja Gulak-Lipka.
